Machinist is, in my opinion, one of the more complex and demanding DPS jobs. While the concepts in general are fairly simple, maximizing your damage is pretty challenging. If you don't know the class you're going to hit like a wet noodle and give MCH a bad name. There are a couple guides to start with;

• Shots Fired
• Lock and Load (Outdated)
• and my personal favorite Uncontrollable Wildfire.

After giving those a read and fully understanding your opener and rotation it's time to get to the good stuff. Aurily is probably the best MCH in the game and has made a video of his opener with comments on why and when he stance dances among other things. Give it a watch here. I learned a ton from it and I consider myself to be a pretty decent MCH.
